BBW Lasertechnik introduces laser welding in the cleanroom
BBW Lasertechnik, a company specializing in laser-based contract manufacturing, is now offering its industrial customers laser welding in a cleanroom. The cleanroom is certified to ISO 14644-1 cleanroom class 6 and is particularly suitable for processing welding assemblies with the highest cleanliness requirements.
Laser welding of sophisticated joints for the optics, semiconductor and medical industries
The new class 6 cleanroom is equipped with a 3D laser welding system that enables welding depths of up to 3 mm and the processing of various materials. Laser welding in the cleanroom is necessary for components that have particularly high cleanliness requirements and are difficult to clean. This applies in particular to the optics, semiconductor and medical technology industries. However, the range of applications itself is diverse. BBW Lasertechnik develops and manufactures its own cleanroom-compatible clamping concepts at the customer's request to achieve precise weld seams.
Extensive quality assurance
BBW Lasertechnik supplements its laser welding technologies in the cleanroom with extensive quality assurance measures. On the one hand, a helium leak test is used to check the quality of weld seams for leaks. On the other hand, microscopic examinations are carried out for metallographic seam evaluation. UV-A tests and particle measurements are also used.
Efficient processes for cost and time savings
For the benefit of efficiency and cost-effectiveness, BBW Lasertechnik has the option of carrying out parameter studies outside the cleanroom on an identical system. Programming via a CAM system also means that specific customer requirements can be addressed quickly and flexibly, saving time and money.
"We are observing that our customers' requirements in terms of cleanliness are continuously increasing. Against this backdrop, it is important for us as a leading service provider in the field of laser welding to offer our technologies and expertise now also in a cleanroom," says Andreas Bürger, Managing Director of BBW Lasertechnik.
