Processing and packaging technology for a better life – an appropriate mission
Due to COVID-19, major industry events and trade shows have been cancelled all over the world. This has not discouraged Syntegon from engaging with its international customers in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Quite the contrary: PACK EXPO Connects marks the second online event for Syntegon this year after their own virtual trade show in May. In times like this, the company is more determined than ever to improve the lives of consumers and patients by offering brand owners intelligent and sustainable solutions, including customer services and digital solutions.
Pharmaceutical exhibits: long-standing processing and packaging expertise
For the pharmaceutical industry, Syntegon is demonstrating its long-standing processing and packaging expertise for solid dosage forms. With regard to liquid pharmaceuticals, Syntegon is presenting solutions ranging from small and micro batch sizes to high-performance machines. Participants will also gain insight into Syntegon's latest and most advanced automatic inspection technology and solutions for high-potent drug processing. Scroll through the online gallery to find out more about Syntegon’s solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.
Processing technology for liquid pharmaceuticals: SVP process systems: the perfect match for every batch
The modular Pharmatec SVP process system stands out for its competencies in processing small volume liquid pharmaceuticals. Thanks to a wide choice of more than 70 functional modules, the SVP can be configured individually for batch sizes ranging from 8 to 3,000 liters. Its flexibility enables production in different clean room categories. Separated preparation and storage areas are optional.
Isolator technology for high-potent products: Safety and performance with advanced isolator technology
High-potent drugs, including antibody-drug conjugates, have become an integral part of many therapeutic areas, and their application possibilities continue to increase. The production of these drugs requires particular safety precautions and airtight production facilities to adequately protect humans and pharmaceuticals alike. Syntegon has more than 25 years of experience in isolator technology at its disposal, ranging from the isolator itself, to bio-decontamination and air-handling technology to the qualification and validation of the entire system.
Cartridge filling technology: High speed, high production rates: Syntegon’s cartridge fill-finish solutions
In cartridge filling, Syntegon benefits from over 40 years of outstanding expertise in fill-finish solutions for medium to high production rates. Syntegon’s high-speed MLD cartridge filling equipment sets the gold standard in cartridge filling and closing. The series offers customized solutions to fit manufacturers’ specific needs, for instance, in insulin production.
Inspection technology: AIM 3000 for maximum inspection accuracy
Parenteral drugs administered in ampoules and vials, such as insulin or hormone therapies, must be of the highest purity. Particles in the product or container defects are not acceptable. Hence, in addition to sophisticated filling technology advanced inspection technology is essential. The AIM 3000 automatic inspection series utilizes high resolution CMOS cameras with high-speed interfaces to detect particles and cosmetic container defects. An optional module offers 100 percent container closure integrity testing (CCI).
Tablet pressing technology: Highly flexible tablet press for medium and large batches
Syntegon’s TPR 500 tablet press combines high productivity and quality with usability. It is equipped with a “True Flow” tablet discharge chute that features an easy-to-clean pneumatic gate mechanism and an optimized take-off angle, significantly reducing product damage and increasing output. Its hygienic design reduces maintenance and cleaning requirements. The machine offers fast and easy changeovers and assures high output and yield capabilities for a cost-effective price-performance ratio.
Primary packaging for medical devices: Automated packaging solution for medical devices
Syntegon’s medical device packaging solution handles products safely thanks to the integrated FANUC robot arm. The products are protected by locked guards until they are fed into the Pack 202 flow wrapper. The machine’s PLC verifies incoming products, prints essential product information onto each pack, and verifies that information using a vision system. Unverified or defective packs are rejected automatically.
The online PACK EXPO Connects event is organized by PMMI and runs from November 9 to 13. Syntegon is presenting its processing and packaging exhibits in a virtual showroom as well as hosting a series of video and Q&A sessions. The showroom and session recordings remain accessible online after the event. The online gallery give an overview of the Syntegon technologies on show at PACK EXPO Connects.
