Laborial wins Innovation Award at ContaminExpo2013

The interactive worktop for laboratories Blautouch developed by Laborial and distributed in France by Sterigene won the first place in an innovation contest organized by the French Association ASPEC and magazine Salles Propres at the 13th exhibition of ContaminExpo, a worldwide reference event in the area of controlled environments, which took place between the 26th and 28th of March in Paris.

The Award Jury was constituted by the scientific council members and permanent members of Aspec, the Secretary of the Scientific Council of Aspec and a representative of the magazine Salles Propres. The award in the category "constituting elements of cleanrooms”, recognizes the initiative and efforts Laborial has been doing in the development of innovative solutions for laboratories.

Blautouch is an interactive worktop that allows replacing computers, keyboards and mice in laboratories, which are major sources of contamination in critical spaces. This product was developed according to the most recent guidelines in "hygienic design" and it’s manufactured in materials which are resistant to the most aggressive disinfectants and reactants, being at the moment one of the cleanest and most efficient solutions worldwide regarding the access to computing equipments in laboratories and cleanrooms.

Blautouch is a result of an RDI project "Intellab - Smart Labs" developed by Laborial in partnership with FEUP and Edigma, under the NSRF (QREN in Portugal), which also resulted in a system for advanced monitoring and control in laboratories, the Advanlab.

The product, already installed in some laboratories, has been referenced by the international press as a landmark regarding the integration of computer equipments and has this prize as the highest point since its launch.

To José Branco, CEO at Laborial, this award "is the international recognition of the vision and investment made in recent years by Laborial in RDI, finding solutions that solve critical problems for laboratory spaces."

NOTE:

The ASPEC (Association pour la prévention et l’étude de la contamination) is the reference French entity in the field of cleanrooms. This association has about 900 members from the universe of cleanrooms with a common goal that is the discussion and analysis of particulate contamination problems, chemical and biological.

The magazine Salles Propres is a bimonthly French magazine existent since 1998 and created by ASPEC together with PYC Édition in order to get to know all the news and developments in the fields of particle contamination, chemical and biological. The drafting committee is constituted by ASPEC's several experts appointed to ensure the technical and scientific value of the magazine.
