Laborial installs the first interactive worktops created specifically for laboratories and cleanrooms

Laborial - Laboratory Solutions, a company specialized in laboratory furniture and engineering projects for controlled environments, such as laboratories and hospitals’ sensitive areas, recently installed its new product Blautouch at the Institute Gulbenkian Ciência (IGC) and at the largest Iberian laboratory for food testing, Controlvet.

Blautouch consists of a tempered glass interactive worktop, thoroughly smooth and continuous, supported by a powder coating steel frame or polished stainless steel, specifically developed for areas where contamination is critical, such as cleanrooms and other controlled environments. Besides the interactive glass, the system includes a full-HD LCD-LED and a mini-PC. These electronic components are integrated in a sealed metal case

This product solves the problems associated with the use of tablets, notebooks, computers, keyboards, mice and other computing devices in areas where contamination is a major problem. Allows users to work with any software they usually do (e.g. digital notebooks, LIMS, wikis, analysis software, office ...) on the worktop itself, meeting the regulations and keeping the asepsis of the controlled environment.

Many institutions, such as IGC, prohibit access to computer devices in some of its most critical laboratories because of the high contamination risk associated with the manipulation of these devices. Blautouch interactive worktop is the perfect solution for facilities where both asepsis and access to information are critical to the laboratory’s safety and productivity.
